Podcast Clips Service
Done-for-you short clips for podcasters and experts (open-source Opus Clip alternative)
Video published Sep 16, 2026 by Corey Ganim
Startup cost: Near-zero cost (open-source tool costs pennies per run, plus lead data) (our estimate; the video doesn’t give figures)
What It Is
You take long-form videos and podcast episodes that experts already record and use an open-source AI tool (OpenShorts) to find the best moments, cut vertical clips and add captions. You then review each clip, write hooks, and schedule 8 to 10 clips per episode to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. The suggested price is about $400 a month for four episodes, which the creator estimates takes about 3 hours per client. Prospects include realtors, advisers, lawyers, coaches and podcast hosts with 20+ episodes but no short clips, or people posting jobs for a short-form editor.
The Pitch
The creator says clients who are not already clipping will not learn a tool themselves, so you are selling curation and posting rather than software. He suggests sending three free clips from a prospect's latest episode to earn the pitch, and calls this a good entry-level offer because you only need to know what a good clip looks like.
Who It’s Best For
Someone with a good eye for engaging video moments who is comfortable with social media scheduling and some outreach.
The Truth (as we see it)
Clipping long videos into shorts is a real, widely sold service, and free sample clips are a credible way to land clients. It is also crowded, since many freelancers and agencies offer it and tools like Opus Clip are cheap. Results for the client (views, leads) are not guaranteed, which can make monthly retention hard. The $400 price and 3-hour estimate are the creator's figures. The creator sells a paid community (AI Operator Academy) and pitches it in the video; he says he is not affiliated with the lead-search tool he recommends.
