SEO Audits and Monthly Scorecards
$499 SEO audit plus monthly local search scorecard using a free Semrush alternative
Video published Sep 16, 2026 by Corey Ganim
Startup cost: Near-zero cost (about $10/month hosting for the open-source tool, plus lead data)
What It Is
You run an open-source SEO tool (OpenSEO) that the creator says covers most of what Semrush does for about $10 a month in hosting. You sell local businesses a $499 audit as a first step, then a $199/month two-page scorecard: 30 keyword rankings, Google clicks, top three competitors, a Google Business Profile check, AI search visibility, and three recommended fixes. Targets are dentists, law firms, HVAC companies and med spas with 5 to 30 staff that already pay for SEO or ads but get weak reporting. You cold-email each one its three worst findings as proof before pitching.
The Pitch
The creator calls this the most beginner-friendly offer in the video, because the audit gets you paid to find out what else to sell and owners are anxious about showing up in ChatGPT-style search. He says 10 clients is about $1,990 a month for roughly 10 hours of work, and that $199 is cheaper than the owner paying for Semrush themselves.
Who It’s Best For
Someone who likes analysis and plain-English reporting and is comfortable cold-emailing local businesses.
The Truth (as we see it)
SEO audits and monthly reporting are a long-established, legitimate service, and leading with free findings is a sensible way to earn attention. A report alone only shows problems; clients may soon expect you to fix them, which takes real SEO skill. Rankings in AI search tools are still hard to measure reliably, so claims there should be made carefully. Income figures are the creator's projections, and he promotes his paid community, where he says members are taught to sell audits for $1,000. He sells a paid community (AI Operator Academy) and pitches it in the video; he says he is not affiliated with the lead-search tool he recommends.
