What It Is

You create coloring books in the "bold and easy" style: thick outlines, simple shapes and lots of open space, so a page takes under an hour to finish. You upload the interior and cover as PDFs to Amazon KDP, Amazon's free self-publishing program, which prints and ships each paperback when it sells and pays you a royalty. The same pages can also be sold as printable downloads on Etsy. Examples shown include a "Big Sister" book and a K-pop fan book.

The Pitch

The creator says detailed coloring books stress people out, while simple ones appeal to kids, relaxed adults and seniors alike, giving the style the widest market. He shows estimates of $728 to $1,200 a month for one simple book and $10,000 to $16,000 a month for another, and calls this the best starting point on his list because there is no writing and the design is simple.

Who It’s Best For

Beginners who want a first book product with no writing, and people who can draw or design simple line art.

The Truth (as we see it)

Bold-and-easy coloring books are a real and popular KDP category, and KDP's print-on-demand model does remove inventory and shipping. Because the style is simple, it is also easy to copy, and the category is crowded with fast, often AI-made books, so new titles usually need a sharp niche, a strong cover and some Amazon ads to get seen. The monthly figures come from a sales estimator, not the publishers' actual statements. The creator sells a one-on-one KDP mentorship ("Road to Hero", entered through a free strategy call), and the sales-estimate Chrome plugin he recommends (co-author.ai) is his own tool, so the revenue figures he shows come from his own estimator and are not audited sales data.
