What It Is

You use AI to create designs, art, sayings and patterns and sell them on print-on-demand products like mugs, t-shirts and phone cases, or as printable templates and planners. A print-on-demand partner makes and ships physical items, so you never handle stock. Because building your own audience for cheap products is slow and expensive, you mostly rely on marketplaces such as Etsy, Amazon and eBay to send you buyers.

The Pitch

The creator says AI makes it easy to produce attractive, funny or striking designs, and that he knows people "making a fortune" this way.

Who It’s Best For

Creative people who enjoy design trends and are willing to list many products and test what sells.

The Truth (as we see it)

The creator points out the part many pitches skip: you depend on marketplaces for customers, and since AI made designs easy, competition has become very heavy. Per-item profits on print-on-demand are small, so it takes volume. Marketplaces have also added rules on AI-generated listings and copyrighted or trademarked designs. The "fortune" claim is anecdotal. Disclosure: the creator is co-founder and CEO of Buildy.ai, the tool he promotes in the video, and it also runs an affiliate program.
