Organic Niche Audience Building
Owning organic niche audiences and selling to them (audience, community, product funnel)
Video published Oct 6, 2026 by Greg Isenberg
Startup cost: Near-zero cost (time-intensive) (our estimate; the video doesn’t give figures)
What It Is
You build free audiences around useful niche information, such as meme pages, YouTube channels or Instagram accounts, and earn from advertisers who pay to reach them. The creator calls the model 'ACP': build the audience first, then a community, then the products that audience asks for. Several audiences across platforms can be run at once.
The Pitch
The creator says paid reach keeps getting more expensive (he compares early Facebook clicks at about 5 cents with a few dollars today), so owning organic attention is a lasting advantage. He argues advertisers effectively pay you to build the audience, and the audience then tells you what to sell.
Who It’s Best For
Patient people who enjoy making content in a niche they know and can keep posting for months before it pays.
The Truth (as we see it)
Building an audience before a product is a well-worn and sensible approach, and rising ad costs are real. It is slow, though: sponsorship income depends on reaching a size most pages never hit, and platform algorithm changes can cut reach overnight. The video gives no audience sizes, timelines or earnings, so how long it takes to pay is unknown. The video is a fast list of 13 business categories rather than a how-to, so there are no steps, prices or income figures to check, and the creator does not pitch a paid product of his own in this episode.
