AI-Native Service Firm
AI-native service firm (agents do most of the delivery, a human reviews exceptions)
Video published Oct 6, 2026 by Greg Isenberg
Startup cost: Low startup cost (AI tool subscriptions; skills in the service matter more) (our estimate; the video doesn’t give figures)
What It Is
You run a service business where AI agents do most of the delivery and you check the work. The creator's example is a bookkeeping firm for one type of business: agents prepare the books from client records, a human reviews the exceptions, and the client gets completed monthly books. You charge per completed job or a monthly fee. He also mentions creative versions such as logos-as-a-service or ads-as-a-service.
The Pitch
The creator says these firms are high margin and need only a handful of clients, because agents can now handle around 90% of the work. He argues newer AI models make the output good enough that one person can deliver what used to take a team.
Who It’s Best For
People with real knowledge of a service (bookkeeping, design, ad creative) who are comfortable setting up AI workflows and checking their output.
The Truth (as we see it)
Using AI to cut delivery time is a sensible way to run a small service business, and charging for a finished result is a common model. The hard parts are getting clients and the reviewing step: bookkeeping errors carry real consequences, and in many places clients expect credentials or professional insurance. The '90% done by agents' figure is the creator's view, not something shown in the video. The video is a fast list of 13 business categories rather than a how-to, so there are no steps, prices or income figures to check, and the creator does not pitch a paid product of his own in this episode.
